As time has gone on my build has slowly evolved into something greater than I planned on. I'm learning a ton about engine building and a ton about supercharging. In the end I would really like to see 200hp/150tq as my final, tuned numbers on 10psi, but Id be happy with 180/130 which would basically make it like a B18C5 with a much better torque profile. I'm expecting for this to be in the car in the middle of Feb, which is about a month later than I had planned. I will update again with pictures once the motor is fully assembled.

Common elements.

I'm flying to PA today so I had some free time this morning to lounge around. As I was taking out Pixie (my dog), I found an Autozone box waiting for me on my front step!! O2 sensor is here! I had to meed Caitlin for lunch but tried to swap out the sensor before I left. No go. The old one was on REALLY solidly. I drove it for about 30m to meet Caitlin and then, with the help of a breaker bar and heat from driving, I was able to get it out. It was still really difficult though, and the new one went in just as tough. My thought is that the threads are bad or crossthreaded, but it doesn't matter now that it's in. No more engine light!!

Covering the basics.

Today after some egg smashing (a Serbian Easter tradition), I got to work getting some more basic maintenance done on RB.

- Oil change with castrol CTX 10-W30 and a Mobil 1 filter.
- Manual tranny fluid change with Honda MTF, 2.4qts.
- NGK spark plugs.
- White lithium greased all the hinges and latches.
- Bled the coolant system. I have an OEM thermostat, which I'll install later.

RB responded well to the fresh fluid, but the tranny is still a little notchey going into all gears, second especially. It's not bad, and the new MTF has made everything much smoother but I'm worried about the syncros. It's either the tranny that needs a new gearset, or the clutch needs changing. I'm betting on the latter but won't know until I drop a new motor in.

On Saturday we went down to Waukegan and picked up a windshield wiper reservoir, pumps and lines. Shortly after I realized that the previous owners "semi wire tuck" meant that he might have just cut off the headlight/accessories harness. I'm hoping its just under the fender...a project for next weekend.

Obd0 ecu codes.

1 - O2 sensor. $35 from autozone.

16 - Fuel injector or injector plug/wire. I think this might just be leftover from when I started the car w/o one of the injectors not clipped on. Gotta reset the ecu and find out.

Both should be easy fixes.

That's $55 to make my shifter not feel like I'm clanking a spoon around in a metal box whenever I shift. Hopefully it will be better than the $2.50 rubber washers I bought at home depot just to fill in.

Also the struts are on, but I'm having an odd clunk from the left rear. I raised her up a little as well, but I still need to even things out. Pics this weekend.

Ahh, the simple things in life.

For starters, the wagovan has a name. "The Red Bull" aka "RB". This inspired name was thought up by my brother, who seems to have a knack for naming cars. 1. I like Red Bull the drink, probably too much actually. 2. I'm a fan of Sebastian Vettel who drives for the Red Bull F1 team. Great job Matt!

Some updates:

The windshield is in! $258 installed.

Struts are in! It seems that I mistakenly ordered Tokico blues vs. the Koni reds I had planned on getting. Rather than returning them(I needed to get something in to replace the blown/worn struts), I just threw them in since this suspension is only a tie me over until I decide on a full coil over. They only charged me for the blues. $288 shipped.

Honda keys 2 keys, $15. A necessity.

So the car is now driveable. She should make her debut sometime this week. I've got a new hub on order so I should have the Nardi wheel on sometime this week.

Thoughts about future upgrades/fixes:

- Rear LCA's. They are tiny. Need to find if CRX/Civic LCA's fit.
- Engine light. Gotta check codes and find out what the issue is.
- Wiper pump system/visors. Whenever I can make it down to the Chicago parts car.
- Install new OEM thermostat.
- Misc old stuff replacement (rattling stuff, bushings etc)

Pics of the new adjusted drop inbound.

The wagovan has arrived.

After a long and tiring journey from Seattle, the Wagovan is home in Milwaukee. It does have some issues though, which I am trying to work out in a settlement with the previous owner. The problems are as follows:

- Cracked Windshield
- Valve head bold threads sheared off (engine light)
- Windshield washer components missing
- Heater core problems
- Temperature gauge problems
- Passenger seat belt fraying
- Front seats ripped/dated
- Steering wheel too small (290mm)
- Rear drivers side seat wont recline
- Timing needs adjustment
- Rear struts blown (needs new suspension overall)
- Alignment
- Removal of the rally 5 panel mirror, add visors/rear mirror
- Missing Honda oem spare jack and tools
- Possible exhaust leak

I'll update this list with fixes as they come along, or make a separate post if it is noteworthy.
